Ghulam Abbas Nabizada is an Afghan artist specializing in carpet portrait weaving, a traditional technique where portraits and images are woven into carpets. With decades of experience, he has contributed significantly to preserving this cultural art through exhibitions, cultural coordination, and training new artists. During his years in Pakistan, he created over 90 woven portraits and later organized the first official Carpet Portrait Exhibition at Ghulam Mohammad Maimanagi Gallery in 2003. Nabizada has participated in major cultural events across Afghanistan and has trained more than 60 students in calligraphy, portrait drawing, and picture weaving, helping sustain and expand this traditional art form.
